TASK 2. "LEMKE COMIC" - JOURNALIST

TASK 2: Sandra Marín Soto

Friday, 04/02/2022 The day before all the members of the group read task number 2 so that when we get to the class we all know what it is about. So that Friday, the different kinds of formats that we have, to make the comic, were distributed randomly with the help of the teacher. Before that happened Linda showed us some examples in videos, so that we can get inspiration and different ideas. We obtained the Hieroglyphics format, at first we did not like it, but after understanding the format much better, and what exactly we have to do we finally liked it and even found it interesting. That day we do not do much more, we distribute the roles that each one will have for this task and write it in a list and send it to our WhatsApp group, then we can find exactly what we have to do individually: Here it is: ICT TASK 2: - Eloy: Prepare the presentation. - Sofía: Find the 5 terms and the question of the weaknesses. - Lidia: Make the APA and the map of the resources used. - Noelia: Answering the analyst's questions and putting the marks. - Emilio: Make the comic, as soon as possible. - Sandra: Tell what we do and ask some questions. That day we also discuss the digital apps that we can use to make the comic, and I have the idea of using Storyboard as a tool, and I showed my classmates how it works because they were not familiar with it, and also I created an account so that we can all see how the comic progress. Monday, 7/02/2022 We have a folder created in Google Document because it is useful for all the tasks that we have to do. In that document, we can write and modify the work all at the same time. There all of us write the new ideas that come to our mind. That day, Emilio, our facilitator, made another list about the doubts that we all have about what we were doing, so to have it all clear we asked these questions to our teacher Linda. What is the exact style of Hieroglyphics that we have to use? Is it possible to use Storyboard? Is it a summary of the text with the 4 potentialities incorporated? How long does it have to be? After she solved our doubts, we all tried our best that afternoon, because we wanted to finish the work quickly, as the presentation takes place on Wednesday. As a journalist, I wanted to document all the things that happened during the work but also how the members of the group have felt during it, and their feelings as a group. For that I have made them this three questions at the end of the presentation: EMILIO: What things of the group will you improve for the next task? I think that we, as a group, can work effectively and that we respect and help each other. Maybe one of the things that we could improve for the next time could be putting more ideas in common or communicating a little bit more with our peers From your point of view, what was your favorite part of this task? My favorite part of the task was when we found out that we had to change all the format of the task because it wasn’t hieroglyphics at all, not because I wanted to repeat all the work we have done twice, but because we started doing such teamwork that we finished really fast. At that moment I realized that when our group join the individual forces of each one, we are the perfect team. General view of the final result of task 2. After doing the task, I feel really proud of what we have done. It was such a difficult style and it wasn’t any easy to develop the task… but we manage to finish it in the best way we can. LIDIA: What things of the group will you improve for the next task? From my point of view, our group has worked pretty well in these two first tasks. We understand and complement each other quite a lot and always complete the task effectively and in time. More than improving as a group, I would say that we can all improve individually and make the most of ourselves. From your point of view, what was your favorite part of this task? My favorite part of this task was reflecting the story and the information in our format, which was Hieroglyphics, and learning a lot more about it. General view of the final result of task 2. As I see it, the format of Hieroglyphics was one of the most difficult to carry out because it was hard finding the specific and realistic tools to complete the assignment, however, I think that our final result is pretty eye-catching and realistic. SOFÍA: What things of the group will you improve for the next task? In my opinion, we organize ourselves a lot as a group and we all get involved and put ideas to improve the task. As a group, I don't know what we could improve since we organize and communicate very well, but the only thing that could be improved is to finish the work earlier to have more time to review it, but since we have so many tasks, it's normal. From your point of view, what was your favorite part of this task? My favorite part is always when we all work together in class as it is a more fun way and we communicate better in person and we all contribute with great ideas. General view of the final result of task 2. Bearing in mind that in our opinion the comic that we have had to make is the most complex, we are happy with the result. Despite the setbacks that occurred during the making of the comic, in the end, we did the best we could and it seems to us that although it is simple and aesthetically it is not the best, we have done what was asked for in the task. NOELIA: What things of the group will you improve for the next task? From my point of view for future tasks we could communicate better with each other in order to work in a good way as a group, and exchanging ideas too.

From your point of view, what was your favorite part of this task?I really like the moment we finished the visual composition among all the format problems that we had with it. Also, to see our creation printed and accompained by the little explanation of it was great.

Tuesday, 8/02/2022

Today was the day before the presentation and we have done the last revisions and questions to the teacher. We realized that the text of the story is correct but the app that we use to make the comic is not. So for making it more quickly each one of the group has made five pictures and then we have joined them all to structure the comic. In this case, we have used Canva which is very useful. Finally, Lidia has printed the copies of the comic, to carry them tomorrow to the university. We are finally very happy with the result. Above there are two pictures of us working together. Wednesday, 9/o2/2022 The day of the presentation: When we finish watching all the presentations of our classmates we realize how difficult our style of comics is. As for us, was very tricky to have to make a comic, which normally is colorful, in that weird way. Our teacher told us our issues, and we all together discuss in the classroom the bad aspects of the task, finally, we all agree, and get to the same point. In our next task, we will do even more. Classmates blog: Here I copy the link of one of the groups of our class, which did a really good job in this task, even though in the first one they didn’t do the task very well, in the second one they did a beautiful comic. Their blog is very well organized and I liked the way they design it. COCONUT BLOG What I liked about being a journalist?: Being a journalist this week has helped me realize that it is useful to have a way to organize everything, and to document it. Documenting the work is very useful to realize all the mistakes and successes that we have had during the process of creating this work. This will also serve to improve the future projects that we have not only in this subject but also when we finish our careers. As in this case we have done the comic focused on the university environment, we wanted to leave some useful tools to make a comic in a simpler way and I think this video explains it very well, as it is a video that perfectly understands a primary school student.
