Wednesday (09/02/22)


Today, Wednesday the 9th of February, Task 2 has been presented by the Star Eloy and after that we have started preparing for Task 3.

In the first place, we have read the document where the third task was widely explained and we have ensured that we understood more or less the aim of the task. We concluded that we needed to prepare an online encyclopedia about volcanoes as if we were students.

Subsequently, all of the roles have been assigned to each participant of the group.

The roles for each person in the group for this third task are:

Friday (11/02/22)


Today, Friday the 11st of February, we have continued the development of Task 3 in class. 

Firstly, we attended the classes with Linda so that she could explain better what main objectives and also little details should be accomplished. Moreover, we asked some doubts regarding the completion and presentation of the Task. For instance, we weren’t quite sure about how we were expected to present the video and the explanation of the task to our classmates so she answered that.

Then, we have created a shared document in order to start working as soon as possible. After that, we have read the resources the teacher has given to us so as to prepare the Task, and have decided our activity: a cross curricular activity based in the creation of a Wikipedia about volcanoes.



Saturday (12/02/22)


In the morning of Saturday we started creating the Wikipedia with an online tool named Pbworks which allows to creat digital encyclopedias. We had to investigate quite a lot in order to find a suitable tool to create the Wikipedia, and also for the information about volcanoes because the topic of the Wikipedia was about volcanoes, their parts, their formation and all of its other characteristics.

In addition to that, in order to be completely sure and aware of what Pecha Kucha format was about, we had to search in the Internet to have a clear example and see the procedure to make our presentation as effectively and perfect as possible in relation to this format. Sunday (13/02/22)


During Sunday the 13rd of February, we continued completing the encyclopedia about volcanoes. This time, one part of the group added information like: Top 5 of famous volcanoes around the world, how does a volcano form and how long does it take?… And the other part of the group, started answering and developing the questions about the task:

o What subject is this task about? o What level would be appropriate for this? o What is(are) the objective(s) of this task follow the Bloom Taxonomy? o What is the technology used on this task, and what is the technique/format this technology is focused on? (storytelling, robotics, images, diagraming, conceptual mapping... etc.) o What is the added value of using digital tools in this case? o What ethical problems could you (or your students or the parents) find doing this activity in the classroom? o What changes do you need to make to allow your students to do it from home?


Monday (14/02/22)


Monday afternoon was dedicated to create the visual support for the oral presentation on Wednesday. Canva was the app we used so as to prepare the presentation since it is really useful and convenient because of its elements and tools. What is more, it provides us a pretty eye-catching and aesthetic visual support which really caught our attention at a first glance.

Tuesday (15/02/22)

Tuesday the 15th was the last day to prepare and perfect our task. 
In the morning, we attended university so in the practice lesson we had a last minute idea. This idea is that, as this task is about a cross-curricular activity and two subject had to be combined, we thought of combining Sciences related to volcanoes with Visual Arts. With reference to Visual Arts, we had to draw by hand the volcanoes pictures instead of downloading them from the Internet, and that way the …

Wednesday (16/02/22)

Finally the presentation day!!
Today our Stars shined as the most, they did it brilliantly.
They exposed on behalf of Potential Teachers our presentation in the Pecha Kucha format.

With reference to other sources, we have found other blog that really caught our attention which is the blog of Tinkiwinkis, because it is pretty well organized and their presentation of Task 3 has been really clear:  https://sites.google.com/view/tinkiwinkis/inicio
Moreover we wanted to share with you these two sources about the importance and benefits of encyclopedias nowadays in primary children and several current and useful digital encyclopedias children can use for studying and working.



From my point of view, the journalist role is an essential part of a class team. I really liked being the journalist this week and reviewing all of the things that happened to us and the procedure we follow in order to complete the assignment. As I see it, this is pretty useful for future projects of this subject and also of others since it allows us to see how we managed to do this task and that way, we improve what we have done wrong and continue doing what was good and convenient.
Therefore, in last place, as I am the journalist I decided to interview my colleagues about their opinion of the final result of Task 3 and these are their answers:

- “My favorite part during the elaboration of this task has been creating the Wikipedia since it has seemed quite dynamic and interesting to look for the information and also when we drew the volcanoes to illustrate our Wikipedia since it was a cross-curricular activity.” - Sofía Lorente

-I am very happy with the final result. I believe that this is our best task at the moment and I think it's because of the way we've organized ourselves since we've learned from the mistakes of the previous tasks. Maybe de voice of the videos is not very beautiful but I think is kind of funny.” - Sandra Marín

- “My favorite part of the task was doing the Canva presentation and the drawings. I also enjoyed to be preparing the presentation with Sandra, it was so funny. I think that this week there was a lot of work to do. This is the task that we have achieved our best result in. That is because we have worked a lot. This type of presentation with so much pressure due to the 20 seconds is so difficult to do and prepare, but I think that we have done a really good job.” - Noelia Marín

- “Personally, I am really proud of the work we have done and I wouldn’t change many things at all, maybe the videos used in the presentation could have been other ones with a better sound.

I think that we really work as a team, everyone does everything he/she can to achieve the better result of the group. Every member of the team is hard-working.” - Emilio José Ruiz


- “ I think this group is a very effective group because we all know what we have to do and we help each other as better as we can and we also review other people's work in order to improve our task and our colleagues' work. This task has helped us to have some ideas in the future to do with our students.” - Eloy Riquelme
