TASK 5. “ETHICS” - Analyst
Analyst: Noelia
REFLECTION:
The best part of the activity was undoubtedly when we had to face the challenge of creating an evaluation method for the tools we added in the task, it was a great challenge for us and we were delighted to face it, perhaps because it motivated us as it was not an easy task. On the other hand, the most difficult part, believe it or not, was selecting each of the tools, since for each classification we had many more tools to choose from, but in the end we put the ones that, on reflection, we thought were the most suitable.
The best moment together working in class, I remember it was just when we found the answer to evaluate the rubrics of all the tools, we all agreed at one point and the solution suddenly appeared in our minds, it was a really great connection as a team. The worst moment as a group was when we didn't know which tools to add. Most likely it happened because it is true that we all work in group from shared documents, but in the end everyone gives more or less use to one tool than another based on their own preferences or previous experiences in other courses and subjects with other teachers.
I really feel that we have learned a lot about the tools that have been implemented in the last decades. Not only to use these new resources during the term, making use of these tools, but by analyzing them with the rubric. It has been very interesting, probably because nowadays with the advancement of technology we have been ''forced'' to modernize over time, to have discovered information about how these resources work, as well as who owns the data when using them and their systems and privacy levels. It has been surprising how few tools are really ''safe'' to use, as far as data protection is concerned. Today, information is power, and there are companies that are really interested in buying our data.
As a group, I think our strength is coordination. We are very effective at putting ideas together, and above all at organizing and distributing the work in an efficient way so that we all have a job to do at all times and can do the work in a more methodical way. We are also very respectful of each other, we respect each other's turn to speak, we take into consideration everyone's proposals and above all, we create a very good working environment being tolerant and patient people, aptitudes that I consider that reside in each one of us in a more or less present way. Although I also consider it possible that it could come from the education or vital context of each one of us. All these characteristics have been present in the group since practically the first assignment, and I hope that they will continue to be preserved until the end of the school year.
Although a big weakness we sometimes have is a bit of uncoordination with the times. Reflecting on this, I come to the conclusion that it is due to the rhythm of life that each of us in the group lead outside the university. There are people in our group who are working, dancing, preparing for degrees outside the university, or getting their car license, and there are so many other personal differences that exist between our lives. So sometimes it is difficult to have the same parts of the tasks done at the same time in order to move forward. This is something we could improve or at least try to cushion for the rest of the activities going forward.
Keeping in mind that currently both as for studying and doing work and as for the future to be primary teachers and adapt to new advances and ways of study and presentation, in all subjects of this career we need to help us and use almost all the tools that we have added in our rubrics. They help us to work with all kinds of subjects, but we had never really analyzed them with privacy or advisory criteria, as we have done here.
As it appears in many news, these new technologies are being implemented in studies to the point of being able to replace books and original elements of education. These tools are increasingly considered when making educational reforms and establishing the curriculum of each country. This is an evident social use of these resources. Both boys and girls, from any country, as well as their teachers use new technological resources to work and study, so we find it very interesting to investigate about the characteristics of these and especially about their privacy, as we have done in this activity, it has been very useful.
